Dennis has been producing art in one form or another since he was young.
He attended art school in Seattle and many classes in Utah. He painted
signs for a Naval Ammunition Depot and then went off on his own to build
a house and open his own shop in the Carson City, Nevada area. He did
everything from painting bill boards to advertise the Virginia City
suicide table to doing gold leaf on fire trucks. He got started
painting the bright colored Christmas windows there, as well. As vinyl
lettering became more prevalent, he decided to focus on his best skills,
hand lettering and artwork.
After an exceptionally brutal Sierra winter, he decided to move his
family to sunny California. He worked for many years as a subcontractor
for an existing business, Judi's Window Painting. He now works all up
and down the West Coast and in Nevada as one of the top commercial
artists in the state. His speed and creativity and skill sets make for
an exceptional value for his customers and his understanding of paint
and making it work on many surfaces from cement to metal to glass keeps
his work in high demand. He is reliable and honest and his experience
has built his skills and speed to a point that keeps his work
affordable. He is centrally located in the Sacramento area and can
travel when necessary.
His hobbies include building and remodeling homes (he's a big fan of the
Arts & Crafts and Mission styles), restoring old vehicles (he's
currently working on a 1960 Karmen Ghia and 1949 Chevy truck). He keeps
his 1/2 acre growing lots of produce and river rock walls. He also does
metal work such as gates and copper stove hoods. Dennis has many repeat
customers all over the state and references are available upon request.
